Fundamentals of Pattern Drafting

Course Description:

Through demonstrations and professional guidance learn patternmaking terminology, fundamental foundations, and basic manipulations that can change the dimensions of your pattern. All demonstrations are shown in quarter-scale size slopers through video tutorials and recorded video sessions to allow more time for you to cover and practice on your own. Quarter-scale PDF sloper patterns will be available for download in course.

These basic slopers will be used throughout this course and additional courses. As they will be your templates to help you gain insight and practice various techniques during this course and on your own to practice. Additional one-on-one Q&A time with Instructor is also available with the purchase of this course to answers questions during course curriculum. No sewing or patternmaking experience required.

Traci Anderson, the owner, and patternmaker for Apparel Pattern Making, LLC has over 25 years of experience in the apparel industry and as an adjunct instructor working in university-level programs. Where she has developed products for all genders and sizes with fabric types ranging across the board. Including products for industrial, home use, apparel, and electrical circuiting sensors in clothing.


Her specialty area of focus is in active sportswear apparel for the active lifestyle and continues today to work as a patternmaker, and technical designer for her own business and continues to instruct/consult as a patternmaker for the University of Oregon Sports Product Development Program.
